Shift of focus / Cambio de foco

Downtown L.A. building

7th St., Downtown Los Angeles (2015) (English version follows below).

The search  of caffeine and pastries is just an excuse to explore the city. In many ways, walking Los Angeles downtown is like walking Caracas downtown. A stench of urine pervades at every turn, a hord of homeless people populates the streets and danger is in the air. However, a shift of focus, turning your face up instead of down and, suddenly, the orderly lines and geometric figures of a magnificent building appear from nowhere.  A number of precious little architectural jewels live in Los Angeles. It is a question of opening the eyes and noticing. In order hides the seed of chaos and in chaos, as we have just seen, lies the seed of order*
