Unpretentious barbecue restaurant / Carne asada sin pretensiones

Honest barbecue place

Arthur Bryant’s bbq, Kansas City, Missouri, USA (2006). Lisbeth Coiman *

In Rome, do like the Romans do. How about in Kansas City, Missouri? In Kansas City… well, a visit to a BBQ joint is a must!  You gotta be hungry when going to Arthur Bryant’s , an ideal stop before any of the Royal’s games. Here the food is honest, unpretentious, without a fuss, and it is a truly democratic experience. Tables are shared by those who buy tickets for the bleachers and those who have front row seats, those who come driving BMW’s and those who drove Fords. You eat voraciously, quickly and deliciously; table talk is short or almost nonexistent.  We collect the dishes, tidy up and leave room for the next group of guests. The relaxed pose of the three musketeers above, was captured in picture by Ms. Lisbeth Coiman *
