Still  but vibrant / Quieta pero vibrante

Fruit basket

Lejos de ser muerta, la naturaleza es vibrante y cambiante.  Por una fracción de segundo, nos invade la ilusión de que congelar el tiempo es posible y así nace la foto de arriba. Por caminos similares, Paul Cézanne está urgido a pintar un cuadro cómo el de abajo. Se trata de capturar belleza, que es fugaz. O, quizás, es belleza -precisamente- porque es fugaz. Lo sabemos: las frutas terminarán en el tracto digestivo de alguien o se podrirán hasta convertirse en polvo. Mientras tanto, celebremos la belleza fugaz!*

It might be still but it is, indeed, vibrant and changing. For a split second, one has the illusion that freezing time is possible. So one feels compelled to shoot a photo like the one above. And Cézanne feels the urge to paint a picture like the one below.  It is beauty, if only for a little time. Or perhaps it is beauty because it last a little time. We know that those fruits will end up in the digestive tract of somebody or will rot and rot until they become dust. Oh well, here is to the transient life! *
