Same blog, a second life / El mismo blog, nuevos aires

After a hiatus of six months or so, I am back into the swing of things. You will notice that, yes, I changed the title of the blog and that a few cosmetic features are different. The old “A Photographic Memory” blog now turned into “Scribbles and Photos”. I kept all the old posts, nothing was deleted. Please also notice that the intent is still to use photography as the starting point for a written text. Unless otherwise noted, all photographs and texts are original. From now on, the focus of this blog will hopefully be a little less autobiographical. This is only a hope, I realize. At the end of the day, all writing is autobiographical because it comes from our own experiences, our own readings and our own representations of the world. Perhaps I should qualify this: this blog’s intent will be to focus in personal reflection while avoiding the mere anecdote. Do join me, as I continue this journey! *

Luego de una pausa de unos meses, héme aquí de vuelta en la pelea. Efectivamente, el título de este blog ha cambiado y algunos aspectos de formato son diferentes.  El viejo blog “Una memoria fotográfica” se llama ahora “Notas y Fotos”. He conservado las viejas entradas, nada ha sido borrado. Nótese que la intención del blog continúa siendo el matrimonio de escritura con fotografía. A menos que se indique explícitamente, todos los textos y fotos que aparecen en el blog son originales. De ahora en adelante, el foco del blog será menos autobiográfico, así espero. Se trata sólo de una esperanza. Después de todo, toda escritura es autobiográfica pues nace de nuestras propias experiencias, nuestras propias lecturas y de nuestras propias representaciones del mundo en que vivimos. Quizás debiera calificar esto mejor: la intención del blog es enfocarse en la reflexión personal mientras se evita la mera anécdota. Continúa conmigo en esta jornada! *
